Jive Funny Championship

The Jive Funny Championship is a competition looking for South Africa’s next hilarious comedian. Over the years, the Funny Festival has discovered, developed and showcased new talent and now has created The Jive Funny Championship for the sole purpose of discovering young up-and-coming comedians from Cape Town and give them a chance to show off their funny alongside the star-studded cast. Just like last year, the project (an initiative of the City of Cape Town and sponsored by MTN) is held at the Canal Walk Auditorium!

Get ready to laugh out loud!
Join us for a hilarious night of stand-up comedy. Watch as comedians compete for the title of Jive Funny Champion 2026. 

Start time: 7:30pm for 8pm.  Seats are unreserved so come early to get the best spot. There will be a 10-minute interval. 
Venue: Canal Walk Auditorium. 
The Auditorium is located opposite Sportscene on the upper level.  Use entrance 5 (Upper Level Woolworths), walk towards Ackermans and Sportscene. The auditorium will be on the left, close to entrance 12.
