South Africa’s biggest gaming tournament is back. The 2025 MTN SHIFT Gaming Experience brings in-centre activations, and serious prize money to malls across the country. This year’s edition raises the stakes with the return of the EAFC 25™ National Football Tournament and the debut of the MTN Beat Saber Challenge – two national titles, one massive celebration of gaming culture.
The Canal Walk E-Football Qualifier consists of online and in-centre heats.
The online heat will take place on Sunday 7 September 2025 on the ACGL platform.
The top four players from the online qualifiers will be fast-tracked to the in-centre qualifier finals. Register for the online heat now.
The in-centre heats take place from Wednesday 17 September to Saturday 20 September at Canal Walk Shopping Centre, as per the heats below. Players register in-centre, limited registrations are available, and is open to all ages. In-centre registrations take place 30 minutes before the heat starts.
The Canal Walk Qualifier Final takes place on Saturday, 20 September. The winner will go through to the National Final, taking place on 21 September.

From 11am on Sunday 21 September 2025 the Top 12 EAFC Finalists battle it out to be crowned the 2025 Champ. Zaid April, the defending champion is joined by the 8 Mall Winners, 2 Canal Walk Wild Cards and the AGC Winner in the MTN Shift E-Football National Final.
