Canal Walk has proudly brought the magic of live theatre to families across Cape Town — creating a much-loved tradition that has delighted audiences year after year. This year’s production of Aladdin is more than just a show — it’s a celebration of a legacy. Over the years, hundreds of thousands of young South Africans have stepped into the world of theatre for the very first time right here, beneath our starry stage lights.
The production is produced and directed by Fred Abrahamse and Marcel Meyer, world-renowned and award-winning directing, production, designing, and acting duo.
Once upon a time, in the bustling city of Baghdad, lived a poor but kind-hearted boy named Aladdin who dreamed of a life filled with adventure, love, and purpose. Little did he know, his destiny was about to change forever...
